There’s an old saying in the world of genealogy that goes “If you have no living relatives and want to find your ancestors, go find a cemetery.” That’s because DNA is only reliable for about 50% of our ancestry. The other 50% comes from family stories passed down through generations. But now, with MyTrueAncestry, there are so many more options available for you to discover new information about your lineage:

MyTrueAncestry is a DNA testing company that offers ancestry tests, such as 23andMe and Ancestry.com. The company has recently been in the news for an alleged data breach. Read more in detail here: mytrueancestry reddit.

Introduction to MyTrueAncestry

MyTrueAncestry (My True Ancestry) is a DNA testing business that uncovers genetic ties to historical personalities and civilizations. The company’s headquarters are in Switzerland. After receiving “oversimplistic ancestral findings” from a large source, one of the company’s founders founded MyTrueAncestry. This disappointment prompted the history enthusiast and techie to create a DNA matching technology that connects individuals to the past.

The site does not reveal the identity of the creator, the members of his staff, or the number of users. MyTrueAncestry.com values your privacy and never asks for personal information when you sign up for a free account. One of the founders is an MIT-educated veteran of “Data Privacy and Anonymous Data Security and Encryption,” according to the company.

MyTrueAncestry Product Review

MyTrueAncestry provides eight distinct tiers of service, ranging from MyTrueAncestry offers eight levels of service ranging from $0 to $596, each of which includes different analyses and features. Each one is named according to themes of ancient history, and each builds on one another. The company does not offer DNA test kits. Instead, they allow you to upload various raw DNA data file types (e.g. 23andMe, Nebula, AncestryDNA, etc.). to $596, with various analyses and services included in each. Each one is called by ancient historical topics and builds on the previous one. The business does not sell DNA test kits. Instead, you may submit a variety of raw DNA data file formats (e.g. 23andMe, Nebula, AncestryDNA, etc.).

MyTrueAncestry’s main goal is to reveal users’ genealogical ties to historical people. A comprehensive FAQ section is available on the website. Its algorithms, it says, compare a user’s DNA to “a broad array of Ancient DNA samples.”

Many of these samples date back to previous archaeological excavation sites and may be located in academic databases all around the globe. These reference populations are used in the MyTrueAncestry.com DNA ancestry test to link current people to ancient civilizations.

This type of study raises concerns about the veracity of MyTrueHeritage. Ancestry is determined by using genuine “reference populations” on sites like 23andMe and Ancestry. Unfortunately, the archaeology history record may only come from a single person, which reduces the chances of finding an exact match. It’s difficult to tell if a genetic mutation is tied to a certain population or whether the gene existed before that with just a single reference point.

Instead of the 20 or so ethnic groups offered with other genomic sequencing firms, MyTrueAncestry.com offers 250. Is it, however, the greatest online page for transferring raw DNA files? In our MyTrueAncestry.com review, we discuss how much a family history service might cost.

MyTrueAncestry is not free.

  1. Commoner (Free basic analysis): This free DNA analysis includes information on 10 of your 20 closest ancient samples and expires after 48 hours. Basic maps and timelines are used to accompany the material. They also provide graphs to show how closely ancient populations and a user’s family tree are linked.
  2. Footman ($37): Users receive ten additional (20 total) ancient sample matches and results that don’t expire with the smallest upgrade. The relationship charts have also been upgraded from 2D to 3D, allowing for a more complicated yet effective depiction.
  3. Knight ($55): This upgrade unlocks 40 ancient samples, including “Premium Maps” that show migratory pathways and “Partial Deep Dive” findings. These are “chromosome-level match analyses.” Users may also use MyTrueAncestry’s comparison tool by uploading an extra genomic file.
  4. The King package ($100) allows users to upload up to 5 genomic files. Each file may be compared, and analysis from 60 ancient DNA samples can be accessed. At this level, the Deep Dive Maps and Analyses are finished. Users may also obtain regional maps that cover a longer period of time.
  5. Caesar ($149): This tier grants access to 60 closely matched ancient samples as well as 10 genome file comparisons. Haplogroups (a group of individuals who have a common ancestor) and other information about the DNA sample origins are also available on MyTrueAncestry.com. They even show the location of dig sites.
  6. Zeus ($248): This version of the service enables users to create real-time maps.
  7. Olympus ($397): According to the service, this tier is the “Playground of the Gods.” Users who are serious about their genealogy may personalize genomic kits using data from ancient DNA samples.
  8. The most costly tier is Odyssey ($596). It has all of the same features as the previous kits, plus 100 more ancient samples, 30 more outlier samples, and the option to upload 10 more DNA kits.

How to Make the Most of MyTrueAncestry

Signing up is simple and takes just a few moments. Simply provide a valid email address, a password, and a plan preference. Because MyTrueAncestry.com does not gather DNA samples from its users, you may submit a variety of raw DAN files (e.g. 23andMe, AncestryDNA, build37, etc.).

You can upload your full DNA sequencing results (whole genome sequencing) from companies like Nebula Genomics is a company that specializes in genomics. is a company that specializes in genomics. is a company that specializes in genomics.. You can also upload any other autosomal DNA data from testing companies that provide ethnicity estimates like AncestryDNA, 23andMe, and FamilyTreeDNA (FTDNA, family tree DNA).

Examining the MyTrueAncestry Reports

MyTrueAncestry.com creates a customised deep examination of ancient ancestry using a mix of cutting-edge archaeogenetic methods and data science algorithms.

The MyTrueAncestry findings show substantial linkages to ancient European civilizations extending back to 550 AD. And “Viking Norwegian” forebears are the strongest connection for this DNA. Each mention of ancient peoples and current civilizations includes a link to further information about them. The specifics also reveal the old DNA source that was utilized to create the connection.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (4)Different sorts of Viking ancestries may be distinguished using MyTrueAncestry.

The “Nordic Lombard” sample, for example, is said to be from a 15th-century “elaborate burial” of a male adolescent.

MyTrueAncestry.com utilizes your DNA information to do a variety of studies depending on geography and historical period, such as:

  • Ancient populations closest to each other (e.g., Byzantine, Franks, Greek)
  • People in modern times (e.g., Norwegian, Ashkenazi Jewish)
  • For Native American descent, there are Native American matches.
  • An era-by-era analysis of ancient ancestral matches (e.g. Bronze age and Dark ages)
  • Haplogroup analysis on MyTrueAncestry
  • In addition, there are “outliers,” which indicate which populations a user aligns with the most unusually.

MyTrueAncestry Privacy Review

MyTrueAncestry claims to take data security and privacy seriously, claiming the founder’s academic knowledge in the field.

Is MyTrueAncestry.com a secure website? After processing, MyTrueAncestry submissions are instantly erased. It’s very easy to utilize the site without revealing your true identify.

Personal information is never requested on this website. “You may even establish a phony email address and we will activate your account for you,” MyTrueAncestry states.

The organization does not provide testing services. The DNA analysis relies exclusively on raw data that is quickly removed from the site’s servers. The site’s genetic analysis findings are saved (except for the basic version, which automatically deletes after two days).

In the News: MyTrueAncestry

MyTrueAncestry.com has not received much attention in the media since it is a younger and smaller business in an industry dominated by bigger competitors. There have been no big data breaches or collaborations revealed.

True Ancestry Testimonials (Updated April 2021)

  • On Facebook, MyTrueAncestry has received 4.6 out of 5 stars from over 100 individuals.
  • There are just three reviews on Trustpilot, putting the firm in the “Average” category with a rating of 3.6.

MyTrueAncestry’s descriptive evaluations are usually good, with the most prevalent issue being that the DNA findings may be overly generic. Users on Reddit debate how people of a certain ancestry (for example, European heritage) are likely to have comparable ancient ancestry findings.

Pros and Cons of MyTrueAncestry

  • The DNA interpretation site purports to place a high importance on user privacy.

Introduction to Thryve

This is a review of Thryve, a health and wellness firm based in the United States that offers Test Your Gut Healthing and individualized probiotic recommendations. They were once known as Quantbiome and were formed in 2016.

Thryve provides a number of goods to go along with its gut health assessments. The varieties of bacteria prevalent in your gut and that have a role in digestive health are among the findings provided by Thryve. Thryve provides detailed actionable information based on current microbiome research depending on the kind of gut bacteria discovered. Dietary guidelines and personalized probiotic suggestions are among the information provided (available for purchase from Thryve).

However, it’s vital to note that the Food and Drug Administration does not presently regulate most Supplements with probiotics.

There is some evidence that knowing your microbiome may help you design a customised health plan. Personal objectives such as weight reduction, improved digestive health, higher energy, and improved mental clarity are all feasible with this knowledge.

Thryve Product Evaluation

The Thryve Gut Health Program includes the Thryve microbiome test – the Gut Test ($99) as well as a selection of their unique Supplements with probiotics. While the test indicates which supplements Thryve advises, individual supplements may be bought through Thryve.com.

Note: According to some reviews, the Test Your Gut Health registers clients for their tailored probiotic subscription immediately. Make sure your subscription is suspended or cancelled if you don’t want this.

Test Your Gut Health

Thryve’s Test Your Gut Health is similar to the other gut microbiome tests we have reviewed before (BIOHM, Viome). Customers mail a small stool sample to Thryve, who characterize the bacterial strains present within the sample. This data is analyzed and a Gut Health Report, Food Plan, and probiotic product recommendations are generated.

Supplements with probiotics

Thryve offers 5 different Supplements with probiotics for purchase individually ($39 for one month’s worth), or as part of a subscription ($35 per month for each supplement). They are designed for and Thryve marketing addresses five different needs:

ProductPurposeBacterial species
Booster for KetonesBoost your weight-loss efforts by using natural energy to burn fat.Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus fermentum, and vitamins Actobacillus reuteri Tr1 (ADR1), Lactobacillus casei, and Lactobacillus fermentum

Mood BoosterGut bacteria may help you improve your immunity and mood.Others include Actobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus paracasei, and Bifidobacterium breve.

The probiotic composition in each of these pills is different. Each has been clinically evaluated, according to Thryve, and has shown some indication of effectiveness. This is something that will be covered in the Science section.

Thryve Science is being reviewed.

Many experts are attempting to unravel the link between gut microbes and human health. However, microbiome research is highly difficult, and many issues remain unresolved.

There is solid evidence showing that Supplements with probiotics can help balance a person’s microbiome by introducing good bacteria into the gut. This may lead to a variety of physical health and mental health benefits. However, there are still a lot of things we don’t know about the microbiome and using Supplements with probiotics. Below is a quick review of what is known and what needs more research, published in the British Medical Journal in 2018.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (10)Probiotics are a branch of science that studies the effects of bacteria on the

Review of Thryve Test Your Gut Health

Thryve sequences and analyzes the RNA in a sample to identify the microorganisms present. This is akin to, but not the same as, DNA sequencing, as we discussed in our Viome review. In a nutshell, it’s a cheap and quick approach to identify a broad variety of bacterial strains, although it requires more cautious sample processing than other methods. Nonetheless, it is a widely used method, with most microbiome testing businesses using it.

Review of Thryve Supplements with probiotics

Many companies offer Supplements with probiotics, often in the form of oral pills. This method is a convenient way for most people to take many supplements. But this is not necessarily true for probiotics. (In fact, fecal transplants are considered one of the best ways to populate a person’s gut microbiome.)

Supplements containing probiotics are simply collections of beneficial intestinal flora. The purpose of taking a supplement is for the bacteria to get through the stomach and into the gut and intestines. This is not so straightforward for live bacteria.

If the shell of the pill dissolves before it exits the stomach acid, it is likely that many of the bacteria will die before they reach the gut. Thryve advertises that their plant-based casing is better than other Supplements with probiotics at passing through the stomach. We were not able to find further details about this claim.

Another issue with certain supplements is keeping the bacteria in the stomach. Thryve says that its probiotic sticks to the intestines better than others. We were unable to verify these statements once again.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (11)Thryve’s Mood Booster probiotic supplement. A twice-daily oral supplement meant to help balance and improve symptoms of anxiety and depression

Thryve offers multiple pre-made supplements including Thryve Mood Booster and Thryve Inside (Infinite Energy).

Another issue that Supplements with probiotics can have is keeping the bacteria within the supplement alive. Since the FDA does not regulate these sorts of products, it is hard to know the quality and quantity of living bacteria within a supplement. However, Thryve claims that their supplements do not need to be refrigerated and have a long, stable shelf-life. Because Thryve probiotic product statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration the products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

An interesting feature is the personal probiotic blend that can be ordered after one takes the Test Your Gut Health. It is a blend of probiotic strains contained in their other five off the shelf supplements. These personal blends can be ordered as part of a subscription.

Health supplements are often associated with a negative connotation. Because they aren’t regulated by the FDA, there isn’t much monitoring over how they’re made or what they include. Furthermore, supplement manufacturers are not always held responsible for their promises. As a result, customers are advised to be cautious about who manufacturers they choose to trust.

There are several natural, diet-based strategies to change your microbiome as an alternative to supplements. Thryve’s $99 Gut Test includes dietary suggestions to aid in the growth and maintenance of a healthy microbiome. The properties of over 4,000 microorganisms in scientific literature are summarized and mapped to 1,000 dietary items and over 500 supplements using proprietary software.

The contents of a Thryve Test Your Gut Healthing kit includes everything you need to get your sample tested.

Obtaining your specimen

Collecting a sample may not be the most pleasurable experience, depending on how you feel about certain topics. The procedure, however, is not too difficult. The following are Thryve’s instructions:

  • Wipe normally after your first bowel movement. Lightly swab the toilet paper with the dry swab (roughly a rice-sized sample).
  • In the main tube, place the cotton swab and aggressively mix for 20 seconds, or until the collected liquid changes color. Shake the tube for 5 seconds after closing it.

It’s reassuring to know that each kit includes a replacement sample tube in case you misplace yours before mailing it. You may contact their customer support department directly if you lose it as well.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (13)Kit for collecting

With the given swabs, a tiny fecal sample is taken and deposited in the container. Thryve’s proprietary stabilizing fluid aids in the preservation of bacterial cells until your sample can be tested in the lab.

submitting a sample

Thryve offers a postage-paid box for clients in the United States to return their sample.

Return shipping is not included for overseas customers. Thryve does provide guidelines and suggestions for returning your sample.

Examining a Thryve Report

Reports from Thryve are sent through their app.

On their website, Thryve has a video that talks prospective clients through the kind of information they may anticipate from a report.

Thryve reports are created using their extensive collection of microbiome data culled from hundreds of online research publications. The precise manner they use this information is not disclosed, as it is for most organizations in this industry. What is known is that Thryve analyzes every single microbiome research paper with their proprietary software and evaluates the data using their research confidence methodology.

Thryve also gives you a Wellness Score that measures how healthy your stomach is. According to their website:

“We match the levels of probiotics, beneficial, commensal, and pathogenic bacteria from our customer’s gut microbiome test to the American Gut Project findings in our wellbeing score algorithm.” We may determine their gut microbiome diversity based on this comparison, which is the richness of bacterial genus or species (numbers of various bacteria) that defines an individual’s gut microbiome. We also take into account the diversity of gut bacteria, such as the proportion of beneficial bacteria, proteobacteria, and other factors.”

Because the reports do not provide a considerable quantity of health information, it seems that the tailored supplements and supplement suggestions are the main value of the report.

Introduction to Lexapro

What is Lexapro and how does it work? Lexapro is an antidepressant manufactured by Allergan plc. escitalopram is the generic name for this medication. It’s part of a class of medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and it’s used to treat severe depressive disorders in adults and adolescents aged 12 and above. It is not suited for youngsters under the age of twelve.

There are several Lexapro adverse effects that you should be aware of. Painful urination, dizziness, sleepiness, exhaustion, weakness, anxiety, agitation, increased muscular movements, feeling shaky; insomnia, heavy menstrual periods; nausea, constipation, diminished sex desire, impotence, or difficulties having an org*sm are just a few of the symptoms. Consult your doctor or a medical expert if you encounter any of these symptoms.

Does Lexapro make you gain weight? On this medicine, there is an increased risk of weight gain. This might be due to a direct increase in appetite or a person’s tendency to eat more when their despair and anxiety decrease.

Allergan plc is an American pharmaceutical business with an Irish headquarters that specializes in developing and selling brand-name pharmaceuticals and medical devices. They also make medical aesthetics and drugs for eye discomfort and gastroenterology, in addition to central nervous system pharmaceuticals like Lexapro. One of their products is Botox.

This company was founded on May 16, 2013, when Allergan Finance, LLC (Actavis) & Warner Chilcott were merged. It was renamed on March 17, 2015 to Allergan Plc upon the merger of Allergan, Inc. and Actavis.

AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV), a research-based global biopharmaceutical business, announced the completion of its purchase of Allergan plc on May 8, 2020.

Lexapro Science is a company that specializes in scientific research.

To comprehend how the antidepressant works, we must first comprehend how the brain of someone suffering from anxiety or depression is impacted.

What is the purpose of Lexapro? Anxiety and depression are two of the most prevalent mental diseases in the United States and throughout the globe. They are a major contributor to suicidal ideation and risk of suicide. These conditions are caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, which has an impact on mood. While environmental influences are considered to have a role, genetic characteristics are also crucial indicators that a person may be prone to one of these problems. The Nebula Research Library has further information on which genetic variations are implicated.

When a person suffering from depression or anxiety takes an antidepressant, the chemical levels in the brain are generally altered. They often boost the availability of “feel good chemicals” in the brain, such as serotonin and dopamine. These benefits result in a more balanced mood and a decrease of sadness or anxiety symptoms.

The FDA has authorized this medicine, and they have a medication guide on their website. Lexapro is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that helps to boost serotonin levels. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps neurons communicate with one another. The medicine prevents serotonin from being reabsorbed into neurons, allowing more free serotonin to reach the neurons. The selective nature of SSRIs comes from the fact that they only impact serotonin and not other neurotransmitters.

Some people may develop serotonin syndrome as a result of the medication. When drugs cause the chemical serotonin to build in the body, serotonin syndrome develops. Although the SSRI is intended to increase serotonin levels, too much of it may induce a variety of symptoms ranging from moderate to severe. If untreated, severe serotonin syndrome may lead to death.

This symptom commonly arises while taking Lexapro for the first time or when the dosage is raised. Milder types of serotonin syndrome may be treated by discontinuing the medicines that induce symptoms or using serotonin-blocking medications.

High or low blood pressure, anxiety, fever, sweating, muscular stiffness, twitching, lack of coordination, shivering, rapid heart rate, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea are some of the symptoms. If you observe any of these symptoms, you should get medical help right once.

Lexapro Customer Reviews

The medication is available in three strengths:

  • 5 F L (Lexapro 5 mg)
  • F L ten (10 mg Lexapro)
  • 20 F L (Lexapro 20 mg)

The identifying numbers are largely printed on the tablets to make them easy to identify. For example, the 5 F L (Lexapro 5 mg) has “FL” on one side of the tablet and “5” on the other side. Pill with imprint F L 20 is Lexapro 20 mg, and that with FL 10 is Lexapro 10mg.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (16)10 mg Lexapro

These prescription medicines can only be obtained through your doctor, who will prescribe the proper Lexapro dosage for you. Once a day, a dosage of 10 milligrams is advised.

Lexapro may be obtained in a variety of ways.

You can have your prescription filled at a regular drugstore. However, you may get the medicine from places like Amazon pharmacy. You’ll still need a prescription, but you can fill it online and have it paid by your insurer. Prices may also be cheaper than at typical retailers.

What is the best way to take Lexapro?

When using this medication, be sure to follow your doctor’s instructions. You should also read the pamphlet attentively and follow all directions. When taking this medication, you should stick to a strict schedule each day, and you don’t have to eat before taking it. To get an exact dosage measurement, use the provided dosing syringe.

How long does Lexapro take to start working? It’s vital to understand that Lexapro has no acute side effects. While certain physical symptoms like as sleep, energy, and appetite may improve in the first 1-2 weeks, low mood and lack of interest in activities may take up to 6-8 weeks to completely recover.

If you stop taking Lexapro without first seeing your doctor or health-care provider, you risk experiencing unpleasant Lexapro withdrawal symptoms. Dizziness, muscular tension, chills, disorientation, difficulties focusing and remembering things, and episodes of sobbing are all common Lexapro withdrawal symptoms.

Ibuprofen, aspirin, diclofenac, indomethacin, celecoxib (Celebrex), meloxicam, and naproxen (Aleve), among others, should be avoided. Call your doctor if you need to take them with Lexapro. Patients who take an NSAID with Lexapro may bruise or bleed readily.

Doctors may advise patients to move from Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) to drugs such as Lexapro. The time between stopping an MAOI used to treat mental problems and starting Lexapro medication should be at least 14 days. Methylene blue, a medicine used to treat methemoglobinemia, is another medication to avoid.

If you forget to take a dosage, you can usually catch up as soon as you recall. However, if the following dosage is approaching, omit the missing dose.

Privacy Concerns with Lexapro

The privacy policy of Allergan may be found at the bottom of the company’s webpage. AbbVie’s policies, especially its privacy policy, have changed somewhat since it purchased Allergan.

Allergan’s commitment to complying with the California Consumer Privacy Act is outlined in the California privacy notice (CCPA).

We often place a greater emphasis on external causes that cause depression, such as stress, death, divorce, and so on, rather than internal risk factors. Although environmental risk factors have a part in the development of mental illnesses such depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, panic attacks, and social anxiety, genetics is also thought to play a role. Depression may sometimes be traced back to a person’s genetic composition.

Introduction to Elysium Health

This is a Elysium Health Review, a dietary supplement firm that intends to bring 25 years of anti-aging research to consumers via consumer goods. Preclinical and clinical studies are now underway for a variety of therapies, including those for skin, microbiota, muscle, cognitive, and circadian rhythm disorders.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (22)Studies conducted by Elysium Health.

The focus of their initial clinical study and signature goods is on aging. Elysium Health now offers two dietary supplements: one for cellular health and optimization and the other for long-term brain health. A customer’s biological age, pace of aging, and general advice for a healthy aging process are all reported by the company’s at-home epigenetics test. Biological age varies from chronological age in that the former considers genetics and lifestyle, whilst the latter just considers the number of years spent living.

Dan Alminana, Leonard Guarente, Ph.D., and Eric Marcotulli co-founded Elysium Health in 2014. As COO, Chief Scientist, and CEO, respectively, all three co-founders are now on the leadership board. The company’s headquarters are in New York City, New York. Dr. Guarente is a research scientist and head of the Paul F. Glenn Center for Biology of Aging Research at MIT, while Alminana and Marcotulli have Silicon Valley backgrounds.

More than 25 scholars and physicians, including eight Nobel Laureates, make up the Elysium Health Scientific Advisory Board. The firm says that their scientific rigor is aided by their network of famous scientific consultants. Elysium Health, like its rival ChromaDex, works with academic research institutes to get access to intellectual property, collaborations, and top researchers.

The Science of Elysium’s Beneficial Effects

Nicotinamide riboside is one of the main constituents in Elysium Health’s flagship supplement, Elysium Basis (NR). NR was first discovered as a trace component in milk. It was later determined to be a precursor to the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide molecule (NAD). NAD is essential for cellular metabolism and repair, ensuring that our bodies remain energetic and flexible.

Dr. Guarente identified SIR2, a gene that extended the lifetime of yeast when activated, while investigating yeast. His lab quickly discovered that NAD was required for this gene’s function. NAD levels normally fall with aging in humans, while increasing NAD levels in mice seems to raise cellular energy levels. Because of this link, many people assume that elevated NAD levels in humans will have comparable consequences.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (23)Ingredients and the basic capsule

ChromaDex, a rival of Elysium Health, has the patent for NR synthesis. Chromadex sold NR and pterostilbene, an antioxidant found in red wine, to Elysium Health. Basis, a NAD supplement, was created using these two substances.

The partnership between the two firms has deteriorated since then. When Elysium reportedly failed to pay a bill for the NR component, Chromadex filed a patent infringement lawsuit against them. The dispute between Chromadex and Elysium Health is still underway.

Elysium currently produces a crystalline form of NR that is exclusive to them. This material’s patent is still pending. NR is produced at facilities that are FDA-approved and registered.

In 2018, Elysium Health signed an exclusive licensing deal with Mayo Clinic and Harvard University to employ NR in dietary supplements for the prevention and treatment of age-related illnesses. Elysium Health’s David Sinclair, Ph.D., co-director of Harvard Medical School’s Glenn Center for the Biology of Aging, is one of the scientists on the patent application.

It’s worth noting that Elysium Health supplements promote cellular health by raising cellular NAD levels, but they don’t claim to be anti-aging. In 2017, the business conducted a clinical trial claiming that people using Basis had 40 percent greater levels of NAD on average. For eight weeks, 120 patients aged 60 to 80 got either a placebo or a normal or double dosage of the Basis tablet. According to Elysium Health’s website, Basis has been scientifically demonstrated to enhance NAD+ levels by an average of 40%.

The NR supplement was shown to be both safe and physiologically active by scientists. However, no human research have yet demonstrated that increasing NAD levels have any effect on aging.

The scientific advisory board of Elysium Health is vast and well-known. Critics worry that the corporation is using well-known experts’ names and showy marketing to promote a product that has yet to be properly proven. Top scientists such as Harvard University’s Dr. Jeffrey S. Flier, who penned a blistering opinion article for the Boston Globe in 2017.

Supplements are not needed to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as long as they are safe for human consumption. Elysium Health has been able to avoid most federal rules as a result of this. The Food and Drug Administration has not examined any of the company’s representations, according to its website.

Elysium Health Review

Elysium Health is a firm that sells nutritional supplements that aim to improve cellular health. Supplements like those marketed by Elysium Health enhance levels of NAD, a chemical that falls with age, while not being advertised as anti-aging goods.

Elysium Health Review Products

Basis, Matter, and Index are the three products that Elysium Health now offers (an epigenetics test).

Review of the Elysium Foundation

Elysium Health’s main supplement is called Basis. Nicotinamide riboside and pterostilbene are two substances that help to increase NAD levels. Customers are recommended to take two capsules with or without meals every morning. It is suggested for long-term use, implying that the NAD-boosting action may be sustained only if consumers continue to use the product.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (24)Elysium Health Foundation

Basis is deemed safe for human ingestion as a supplement. It’s vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free, and devoid of artificial colors and flavors. It’s made in FDA-approved and registered facilities, with quality assurance provided by independent third-party laboratories.

Elysium Health makes the following claims about this product:

  • Promotes cellular aging in a healthy way.
  • Activates sirtuins, which are important for cell health.
  • Supports cellular energy and aids in the preservation of healthy DNA.
  • Hundreds of vital functions are maintained in your cells.

Review of Elysium Matter

Matter is touted as a supplement for improving brain health as people become older. It was created in collaboration with Oxford University. Matter contains a proprietary B vitamin combination from Oxford that purports to halt brain degeneration. It also includes antioxidants and fast-acting omega-3 fatty acids, which help to enhance cognitive wellness.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (25)It’s All About Elysium’s Health.

In healthy older individuals, high levels of the amino acid hom*ocysteine have been linked to age-related issues, including brain shrinkage. Certain B vitamins, which were used in the patented B vitamin complex produced at Oxford, modulate plasma hom*ocysteine.

A two-year Oxford clinical research including 168 persons over 70 years old with modest memory difficulties was conducted. When compared to a placebo, the B-vitamin complex in Matter lowered hom*ocysteine levels and delayed the pace of brain atrophy by 30%. The rate of grey matter shrinkage was delayed by an average of 86 percent in key brain areas.

Individual outcomes may vary, and not everyone will obtain benefits, according to Elysium Health.

According to Elysium Health, this product:

  • Oxford has patented a scientifically validated B-vitamin compound to help reduce brain shrinkage as you age.
  • The B-vitamin complex delays age-related grey matter shrinkage by an average of 86 percent in areas critical for learning and memory.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids with increased bioavailability, as well as antioxidants called anthocyanins, are included to help with cognitive function.

Elysium Health Review Biological Age Index Test

Index is an at-home test that uses epigenetics to assess how quickly clients are aging. In their study, Elysium Health includes a cumulative rate of aging and biological age. The total biological age is used to compare a customer’s general health to that of a healthy individual of the same age. In a customer’s genome, the study searches for DNA methylation (a natural process that tends to decrease gene transcription). While methylation isn’t the only epigenetic change that may occur, it is one of the most prevalent and strongly correlates with other age-related indicators.

DNA methylation is influenced by genetic, behavioral, environmental, and temporal variables. Fitness, diet, smoking, and drinking are all examples of lifestyle choices. The Index report includes advice on how consumers may improve their biological age via lifestyle modifications, as well as the cumulative rate of aging and total biological age.

Index’s Scientific Basis

Epigenetics is not the same as genetics. The majority of at-home DNA tests, such as those sold by 23andMe, Ancestry, and Nebula Genomics is a company that specializes in genomics., look at the underlying genetic code. This code reveals information on health-related predispositions, personality attributes, and ancestry. The DNA genome is set in stone.

Changes in epigenetics are induced by alterations to genes that switch them on or off, rather than changes in the coding itself. Epigenetic modifications, in the end, control cellular activity. Epigenetics, unlike the static DNA genome, is changing throughout time.

Morgan Levine, Ph.D., a bioinformatics advisor for Elysium Health and a professor at Yale School of Medicine, was important in the establishment of Index in 2018. The proprietary Elysium Health chip, created in collaboration with Illumina, now powers the analysis. The chip assesses and analyzes epigenetics from a saliva sample using the Algorithmic Platform for Epigenetic Examination (APEX).

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (26)The Elysium Health Index is a metric that measures how healthy a person is.

The FDA has not yet evaluated or authorized Index. The product is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any illness or condition, or to determine the risk of any disease or condition.

Using the Elysium Health Index

Customers obtain a saliva sample and ship it to Elysium Health’s CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited lab for analysis, following the instructions. Technicians extract DNA in the lab and look for locations on the genome where DNA methylation, an epigenetic biomarker, has happened. When cellular machinery attaches a chemical group to a DNA strand, the gene is turned off.

To establish a customer’s methylation profile, DNA is put onto the unique Elysium chip and scanned. They look at the profile and utilize it to figure out how old a person is biologically. It’s worth noting that Elysium Health’s research can calculate a biological age for various bodily components. The “overall” age shown in the Index report is a composite of the ages of numerous tissues.

Customers will get an email six weeks after receiving their sample informing them that their findings are available. With their Elysium Health login, they may view their results via their online Elysium Health account. The index is meant to be used on a regular basis throughout time to see how lifestyle changes impact biological age. c

Summary

Elysium Health sells two dietary supplements that promote cellular and mental well-being. Their main product, Basis, has a substance that enhances the body’s NAD levels. People expect that boosting NAD would reduce the consequences of physiological aging since NAD reduction is linked to aging. Despite continuing investigations, there is no clinical evidence that NAD levels influence the aging process in people.

Despite the fact that Elysium Health’s medication had no notable adverse effects and was successful in a clinical study, there have been safety concerns about toluene contamination and elevated LDL levels. The FDA does not have to regulate supplements very much.

Overall, the science behind using averaged epigenetic analysis to calculate biological age is still in its infancy. If you can afford the $499 price tag, there’s no harm in attempting a test like Index. You could also learn about specific techniques to enhance your overall health. For $89. TeloYears provides a comparable test that measures cellular age using a different metric, telomere length.

Overall, Elysium Health products may help clients feel younger by increasing cellular vitality. Aside from the high price tag, there seem to be little hazards associated with taking the pills.

Although many individuals believe these supplements are the legendary “fountain of youth,” there is presently no scientific proof relating the supplements’ function in extending life span or providing other health advantages.

Genetic factors influence aging as well. A whole-genome sequencing product like the one offered by Nebula Genomics is a company that specializes in genomics. can help you understand those factors and inform your decision to purchase dietary supplements.

Introduction to Prevagen

Quincy Bioscience introduced Prevagen as a memory support supplement in 2007. Better brain health, support for healthy brain function, and clarity are all claims made for this product. Quincy Bioscience is a biotechnology firm that focuses on the research, development, and commercialization of innovative technologies to assist brain health care and other common health issues linked with cognitive aging.

What exactly is Prevagen? The company’s main product is this supplement. It may aid with minor memory loss and cognitive function, according to the researchers (even though they advise their customers to seek medical advice before use). Apoaequorin, a protein discovered in jellyfish in the 1960s, is the active component in Prevagen. This calcium-binding protein is now used by the corporation in a synthetic form. Vitamin D, Apoaequorin, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable capsule (cellulose, water), and maltodextrin are among the other Prevagen components.

The product is available in two strengths, with the ordinary strength comprising 10 mg and the extra strength including 20 mg of the active component. Prevagen Professional, for example, has 40 mg of apoaequorin. They also manufacture the items in two distinct numbers, with a 30-count bottle and a 60-count bottle of each strength.

The product has been the subject of considerable debate. One such debate is whether the producers of Prevagen’s claims that the supplement may boost memory and cognitive performance are true. Despite the fact that the supplement’s legitimacy has been questioned by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), customers continue to buy it, with supplement sales reaching $165 million in the last decade.

Mark Underwood (who is credited with inventing Prevagen) and Michael Beaman, a businessman, are the founders of Quincy Bioscience.

Prevagen Science: A Memory-Prevention Protein

Prevagen has been scientifically proved to aid modest impairment of brain function, including memory issues, according to Quincy Bioscience’s website. They claimed it helped with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia at first, however the FTC refuted these claims. A federal court in California ruled a mistrial in a similar Prevagen case accusing Quincy Bioscience with fraudulent claims, especially against Prevagen claims, on January 28, 2020.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (30)Prevagen’s scientific basis

Despite the fact that apoaequorin was first discovered in jellyfish, Quincy Bioscience created their product using genetically engineered bacteria. As a result of this strategy, some argue that supplements like Prevagen should be classified as drugs and subjected to the same rigorous testing that drugs are subjected to in the United States before being approved for sale.

Quincy Bioscience lists three studies on their website to back up their claims. The Madison Memory Study is the only placebo-controlled and double-blinded clinical trial. According to the study, 10.8% of individuals who took the medicine every day for three months saw an improvement.

However, when compared to the 3.8 percent of persons who received the placebo therapy, this outcome is not statistically significant. As a result of this research, the New York Attorney General, in collaboration with the FDA, filed a case in court alleging fraudulent advertising and accusing Prevagen’s marketers with making misleading promises. They alleged that the product had cheated many people, particularly the elderly, of their money.

Other studies revealed that those who took Prevagen on a regular basis got more sleep and had superior word memory and recalled driving instructions.

However, the majority of these studies have been slammed because to a lack of evidence tying apoaequorin to the therapeutic results claimed by Quincy and post hoc analyses. In addition, the Madison Memory Research firm study is the only one that has been published in a peer-reviewed publication. According to the product’s instructions, it should be taken for 90 days. There is no longer any safety or efficacy information available.

Introduction to Ancestry

Ancestry started as a family history magazine and book publisher in 1983 and has now evolved into a DNA testing business. It created Ancestry.com more than a decade later to gather genealogical data such as military records and chronicle family history using historical documents.

Ancestry and Relative Genetics joined in 2002 to provide direct-to-consumer DNA testing. As a result, it became one of the first firms to join the burgeoning home DNA testing industry.

By 2012, AncestryDNA, a DNA test that combines genetic and family history data, has become the company’s main offering. It is now the “world leader in consumer genomics and family history.” Over 20 million individuals have had their genetics tested, and the firm has data from over 80 nations.

Taking a DNA Ancestry Test

The DNA in your saliva is analyzed in the AncestryDNA test. Following the creation of an account with an email address and the purchase of one of the Ancestry DNA kits online, the firm delivers a box including a saliva collection tube and a return label.

After that, users must:

  1. Activate the kit’s features. This entails establishing an account on the Ancestry website and registering the unique DNA kit activation code with their Ancestry login.
  2. Their saliva should be poured into the tube. After brushing your teeth and before delivering your saliva sample, it’s critical that you don’t eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum or tobacco for 30 minutes.
  3. Return it to Ancestry using the return package and mailing address provided.

Within 8 weeks after receiving the saliva sample, the testing facility will examine it for genetic markers and produce the autosomal DNA test results. The DNA findings are subsequently uploaded to the user’s account, and users are notified through email that they are accessible. Customers may get raw data from their findings and utilize it with other analysis sites and marketplaces like GenePlaza and sequencing.com.

Estimation of Ethnicity

The genetic markers of a user are allocated to one of over 1,000 different locations throughout the world. A reference population panel of over 40,000 DNA samples determines these exact locations. This panel splits the globe into 60 areas, such as the Middle East, which are divided in a pie chart-like fashion. Users may utilize this global explorer to learn more about their family’s origins and relationships.

Matches in AncestryDNA users to identify relatives based on shared DNA. To see a match’s full family tree, users need a membership. Matches can include close family members like parents and siblings, or as distant as fourth cousins.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (43)In Ancestry, you may find DNA matches.

Ancestry helps people find their ancestors by allowing them to make the most of their match findings.

For starters, connecting test results to a public family tree increases the likelihood of discovering shared ancestors and more matches. Users may also look at shared matches, which helps to fill in the blanks on whose side of the family each match belongs to.

Second, users may chat with their matches in addition to exploring for other family trees to discover. This may help you uncover your family by giving you a better picture of how each match is related to their family tree.

A subscription enables users to access family data on www.ancestry.com using their Ancestry.com login, including over 100 million family trees created by other Ancestry users. The cost of a monthly membership is $24.99 for US records and $39.99 for overseas records.

ThruLines in AncestryDNA

Users may see common ancestors who link them to their matches using this functionality. The findings are based on genetic data from family trees (paternal and maternal lines). Specifically, how much of your family tree overlaps with that of a potential match (e.g. common great grandparents).

To utilize ThruLines on Ancestry, you must first:

  • Opt to see and be seen by their DNA matches. This allows matches to see your Estimation of Ethnicitys and shared genetic data.
  • Connect your Ancestry DNA test to your family tree and make sure it’s searchable.
  • Creating a family tree that goes back at least four generations is a must.

AncestryDNA Traits Review (+ $20)

Trait reports are an extra service that allows customers to discover how their raw DNA affects specific characteristics. It focuses on health and wellbeing indices such as Omega-3 insufficiency and male hair loss.

Less significant features such as earwax type and allergy to cilantro are also included. Overall, this service allows you to investigate how your genes impact a variety of aesthetic, sensory, fitness, nutritional, and other personal characteristics—such as endurance fitness, heart rate recovery, and more—by discovering 35+ attributes.

AncestryHealth ($149) – Review – Discontinued

In 2019, the AncestryHealth test kit was released. It has all of the characteristics of the AncestryDNA kit, plus more. The health DNA testing kit also included with reports to assist clients in identifying possible health hazards in their genomes. A physician will arrange appropriate tests for eligible individuals to determine their propensity to certain health issues. Health testing findings, if appropriate, contained actionable health reports as well as access to genetic counseling services.

AncestryHealth, on the other hand, was discontinued by Ancestry.com in July 2021. This move was taken to “deepen our emphasis on family history,” according to the firm.

An examination of Ancestry’s privacy policies

Ancestry transfers DNA samples to third-party laboratories in the United States for processing. A unique activation code is the sole thing that keeps track of the user. During the testing procedure, the user’s identification and DNA testing results are segregated. The results are saved in the corporate database, which employs a variety of measures to keep user information private.

When a user receives their findings, they have a number of alternatives for sharing their information. Displaying the user’s complete name and enabling matches to see ethnicity findings are two basic settings. The client maintains ownership of their data, according to the Terms and Conditions, unless it is used in line with their privacy policy and terms of service.

Ancestry also enables customers to remove DNA test results from the database, destroy user samples, and cancel Ancestry accounts forever.

The Ancestry Human Diversity Project is available to those who want to participate. Ancestry’s research, as well as that of third-party researchers, is included in this project. Ancestry may share anonymised data as well as biological samples with those who choose to participate.

In the News: Ancestry

Ancestry is often mentioned in the press as the industry leader in DNA testing. This includes stories in sites like CBS News and Vox regarding a recent downturn in the DNA testing business.

Many Ancestry articles also discuss privacy problems. Articles in USA Today and the New York Times, for example. According to some accounts, Ancestry declined to release customer information when law enforcement requested it due to an incorrectly served warrant. Officers might have had access to 16 million DNA profiles from Ancestry’s customers as a result of this step.

The Bottom Line, a Utah-based radio show, interviewed CEO Tim Sullivan.

MyLondon News published a report on September 10, 2021, about a lady who searched out her father after 35 years of not knowing anything about him. She spent £70 for an Ancestry test that, although being puzzling at first, helped her locate the place where her father resided.

In the Ancestry Testing Market 2021 Global Regional Overview, Ancestry.com was identified as one of the top companies. Forecasts and evaluations of this business sector are included in this research study, which goes up to 2026.

Introduction to Viome

This is a review of Viome, a health testing firm that specializes on gut and digestive health and offers at-home testing kits. They want to examine the microbiota in order to provide the best health advice possible. In the United States (except New York), Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, Viome’s Test of Gut Intelligence is offered. At present moment, the Health Intelligence exam is only offered in the United States (except New York).

Viome was launched in 2016 with the goal of providing commercial Microbiome of the Gut testing that leads to individualized diet and health advice. The business has recently expanded into human cell gene expression testing, which evaluates the expression of thousands of genes and is marketed as an useful complement to the Microbiome of the Gut studies.

All microorganisms that reside in and on the human body make up a person’s microbiome (like bacteria and archaea). The Microbiome of the Gut has long been assumed to be in charge of fighting viruses, breaking down indigestible food, and maintaining intestinal health. According to recent research, the Microbiome of the Gut is connected to the immune system as well as other brain processes. However, since Microbiome of the Gut research is still relatively new, many tests “can only give limited information for now” and may not be able to provide meaningful recommendations for optimum health, according to a number of specialists.

Viome tests include with sample collection instruments, written instructions, and pre-paid return labels. The Viome test kits are manufactured by the firm and sent to their own CLIA-certified lab. Within four weeks, customers may expect to see benefits.

Customers get their results through Viome’s secure portal, which can be accessed from any device, or via their mobile app (available as an Apple App Store download, or is available for download on Google Play).

RNA Sequencing: A Review of Viome’s Science

Let’s take a look at the science and technology behind Viome testing.

Viome differs from previous gut testing (and genetic sequencing) services in that its results are based on RNA rather than DNA. Advanced metatranscriptome sequencing is how Viome describes it.

Each cell in the body includes the same genetic information, and DNA holds all of a person’s genetic information. Different parts of the body, on the other hand, only need to utilise (or express genes from) certain sections of the DNA sequence. Cells accomplish this specificity by utilizing DNA as a template to produce smaller amounts of RNA, which then produce just the molecules required.

Viome picks and sequences just a tiny portion of the human genome by sequencing RNA. This approach specifically chooses the “active” portions of the genome that are expressed. The business reads the bacteria in the customer’s gut, as well as some of the genes in the mitochondria and blood.

RNA sequencing offers some intriguing benefits, but it also has some disadvantages. Extraction and sequencing of high-quality RNA from samples may be challenging. Furthermore, RNA sequence databases (particularly for microbes and bacteria) are not comprehensive, and may often fail to distinguish between the RNA of many organisms inside a single sample. These concerns may make the accuracy of a customer’s findings more difficult, if not impossible.

Viome Microbiome of the Gut Testing: A Review

The “Gut Intelligence” test, an at-home gut microbiota exam, is Viome’s principal offering. The human gut includes a huge variety of bacteria and microbes (= microbial richness) that help the body conduct a variety of functions. The exact bacteria found in each person’s Microbiome of the Gut are connected to the person’s diet and general health. The Viome gut test’s purpose is to detect a customer’s active gut microorganisms, assess their gut health (including gut lining health, which is critical for nutrition absorption and immune response, as well as other gut disorders), and offer diet recommendations based on the findings.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (47)A tiny sample of one sort of evaluation Viome may offer linked to “Digestive Efficiency” is presented on Viome’s website.

The Gut Intelligence Service examines a customer’s Sample of a Stool to identify the bacteria and microorganisms that live in their gut. These data is loaded into Viome’s proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms, which provide over 20 distinct health insight ratings based on factors such as digestive efficiency, inflammatory activity, and metabolic fitness.

Gut microbiota testing, unlike certain diagnostic tests, is still very new and exceedingly complicated. In many circ*mstances, the presence or absence of specific microorganisms in a sample is insufficient to make a definitive conclusion about a person’s health. To create its suggestions, Viome’s algorithms cross-reference massive databases of microbiome data with the personal information of other clients.

“THE SERVICE IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR, AND DOES NOT PROVIDE, MEDICAL ADVICE OR CLAIM TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT, CURE, OR PREVENT A DISEASE OR ILLNESS,” according to section 38 of Viome’s Terms of Service. THE SERVICE AND INFORMATION ON THE VIOME WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT VIOME DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE OR RECOMMENDATION AND IS NOT TO BE USED FOR THE DIRECTION OR CARE OF INDIVIDUAL PATIENTS UNLESS EXPLICITLY SPECIFIED OR AGREED.”

Viome Gene Expression in Humans Testing: A Review

Viome has recently started offering a “Health Intelligence” service designed to complement their Test of Gut Intelligence. The customer provides a blood sample from which thousands of active genes are sequenced, both from the blood itself, and the customer’s mitochondria. Compared to the Full Genomic Sequencing offered by Nebula Genomics is a company that specializes in genomics. is a company that specializes in genomics. is a company that specializes in genomics., this product provides far less information. The idea is that RNA sequencing could instead characterize only the active portions of the customer’s genome. Viome claims that their product is a good alternative to DNA tests, and can help understand the customer’s energy levels.

The mitochondria are the components of a cell that package and provide energy to the cell. It has its own RNA sequence, and Viome calculates Mitochondrial Health and Biological Age by looking at key mitochondrial genes that are expressed. RNA from a customer’s blood is also sequenced and analyzed to offer additional metrics such as Cellular Health and Stress Response.

All of the indicators given are Viome’s proprietary measures, designed to provide a qualitative or broad picture of a customer’s health. They are supplied with the understanding that “THE SERVICE AND INFORMATION ON THE VIOME WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED FOR EDUCATIONAL, INFORMATIONAL, AND ENJOYMENT PURPOSES ONLY” and are not intended to be used as medical advice.

Putting a Viome Test to the Test

Viome provides two test kits for use at home.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (48)The Test of Gut Intelligence is included in both Viome kits (Sample of a Stool). In addition, the Health Intelligence kit sequences the RNA in the customer’s blood sample.

Customers will discover an activation code inside the packaging that will allow them to link their kit to their online account through their Viome login. They must also complete a questionnaire on their health and lifestyle. The Viome health team may then give individualized assistance and health suggestions based on these replies. “While this information may hint to a potential diagnosis or therapy,” the company’s Terms of Service add, “it should always be validated and augmented by specific medical and clinical testing findings.”

Both tests need a Sample of a Stool (which some customers may find uncomfortable), as well as a little blood sample obtained from the finger for the “Health Intelligence” test. After taking the samples, consumers return them to Viome’s lab for analysis using the given postage-paid mailing label.

After the lab gets the kit, customers receive their results in less than 4 weeks. Viome uses its unique AI algorithms to evaluate the data and provide you with health and wellness findings and suggestions. The company’s website and mobile app provide access to the results.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (49)A sample of the various items that will be included in a Viome test. The Viome kits’ main selling point is their diet and supplement suggestions.

While most reports provide individualized suggestions for a selection of nutritious meals as well as a comprehensive list of the bacteria that live in your gut, they do not provide access to your raw data or provide any insight about how their recommendations are made. Section 6: A Viome Report will go into this in further detail.

Examining a Viome Report

Overview

Viome emphasizes the diet recommendations each test provides. Reports come with a long list of foods grouped into three categories (Superfoods, Enjoy Foods, and an “Avoid” list of foods) as well as Gut Health metrics. Both the Gut Intelligence and Test of Health Intelligences provide these results, though they may use different data to make these recommendations.

There are a lot of cuisines and measurements to choose from. The Viome website provides sample results for simply Food Recommendations and Gut Health, which total 75 pages and may be intimidating. Customers may use the search option in the free Android and iOS applications to help them filter through all of this data.

A customised action plan for an individual’s diet based on their gut bacteria data is one of the most common insights. Sections of the action plan are dedicated to:

  • List of superfoods
  • List of foods to enjoy
  • Reduce the number of foods on your shopping list.
  • List of foods to avoid
  • a list of supplements

Review of the Viome Test of Gut Intelligence

In addition to food recommendations, Viome helps with weight loss and other health goals. To achieve this goal, the Test of Gut Intelligence gives science-based qualitative assessments of gut-specific health and “pathways” like the activity level of a customer’s Methane Gas Production Pathway. An example of this result is shown below.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (50)Example of the Viome Test of Gut Intelligence report.

Customers may use these results to estimate how “excellent” certain measures are in comparison to the performance of other customers. However, since these are secret criteria, it’s hard to say precisely what “good” implies.

The Intestinal Barrier Health score is an example of one of these measurements. This score might aid consumers in diagnosing a leaky gut, which occurs when the intestinal barrier is damaged, allowing hazardous materials such as toxins and germs to enter the circulation.

Review of the Viome Test of Health Intelligence

The Health Intelligence report includes everything in the Test of Gut Intelligence, as well as a selection of additional mitochondria and cell-based metrics. Below is a sample of Mitochondrial Health results.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (51)An example of some of the results of the Test of Health Intelligence. Mitochondrial Health data shows results from multiple tests. Customers would need to purchase the Test of Health Intelligence each time.

The bulk of these indicators are presented as a proportion of other Viome customers examined, which potential consumers should be aware of. It’s unclear what “better” signifies since these measures are computed using Viome’s proprietary algorithms.

Insurance and Payments

Viome tests cost $149 or $349, respectively, and are unlikely to be reimbursed by insurance. The firm takes credit/debit cards as well as PayPal payments.

Viome’s Privacy Policy is being reviewed.

Customers agree to “transfer and assign all right, title, and interest in and to the Samples, Self-Reported Information, analyses, Test Results, Sample Data, Test Data, and any data produced therefrom to Viome and its assigns and successors.”

Viome’s privacy policy explains how the company will handle consumer information. Sensitive Data, such as medical facts, records, racial or ethnic origins, political or religious opinions, or sexuality, is acquired during the first questionnaire. Without the customer’s specific permission, personal information is not shared with insurers or other third-party organizations.

Data will be de-identified and anonymized in general. The customer’s information is utilized for service and quality improvement, research, and other company activities. The Viome diagnostic algorithm, in particular, will utilize the results of your test, as well as the responses to your questionnaire, to assess the tests of other customers.

SR9009 is a dangerous investigational medicine that has not been licensed for human use. Under no circ*mstances should you take it.

Introduction to Sr9009

Professor Thomas Burris of the Scripps Research Institute created the synthetic medicine stenabolic (SR9009) to enhance people’s general health and quality of life. A selective androgen receptor modulator, or SARM, is another name for it. SARMS aren’t steroids, and some don’t even need PCT (others, like RAD 140 do). The compound was created with bodybuilders, weightlifters, and sportsmen in mind. According to the marketing, this medicine alters the genes that govern physical health, resulting in increased stamina and endurance, as well as rapid weight reduction.

The medicine was shown to lower anxiety, boost endurance, and reduce inflammation, weight, and cholesterol in rats.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (62)SR9009 was created by the Scripps Research Institute.

The effects of Stenabolic, on the other hand, have only been studied in laboratory animals. Because it has yet to be tested on people, the adverse effects and dose of SR9009 are unclear. It would provide considerable advantages, such as the effects of exercise on the body, if it was tested in people and shown to be safe to use.

The following are some of the possible advantages:

  • Increase your stamina and endurance.
  • Increase your capacity to burn fat
  • Keep your muscular mass.
  • Enhance your cardiovascular health
  • Lower your cholesterol levels.
  • Reduce your anxiety levels.
  • Boost your metabolism

That means you may not need to go to the gym every morning to keep healthy. However, utilizing SR9009 is not recommended until it has been thoroughly tested and approved for use in humans. It is on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s list of banned medicines due to misuse in the bodybuilding industry.

From September 2008 until September 2013, Professor Thomas Burris, the creator of Stenabolic, was the head of The Scripps Research Institute. He holds the positions of Professor of Molecular Therapeutics, Professor of Metabolism and Aging, and Director of the Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases. Professor Thomas Burris is the University of Health Science and Pharmacy – St. Louis’ vice president for research and graduate education.

Scripps Research Institute is a nonprofit scientific institute that is noted for its groundbreaking research and teaching efforts.

SR9009 Science Review

The effects of SR9009 have been studied in cell viability tests for anticancer therapies and on lab animals such as mice for a variety of impacts, but no human trials have been conducted. It is currently classed as a research chemical and has not been authorized by the FDA. Because no human clinical studies have been conducted, nothing is known about how it may effect the human body in the short or long term.

This medicine was developed as a result of Thomas Burris’ insight that ligand molecules may truncate blood cholesterol while simultaneously increasing metabolic rate. This may help you shed weight faster while also increasing your endurance. SR9009 was born as a result of this finding.

SR9009 is a ligand that binds to REV-ERB, a protein that ensures the proper functioning of circadian rhythms. It stimulates REV-ERB when it binds, increasing the protein’s activity. When applied on mice, SR9009 disrupts the animal’s activity and circadian clock (sleep) cycles. Because of the beneficial physical benefits of this synthetic medication in animals, it is often taken illegally to enhance physical performance, particularly among bodybuilders who refer to it as “workout in a bottle.”

The medicine enhances oxygen consumption, lowers fat storage, reduces the development of new fat cells in the liver, increases the number of mitochondria in muscle, decreases cholesterol and bile acid synthesis in the liver, and boosts glucose and fatty acid usage in muscle in animals given SR9009.

Treatment with SR9009 also assists fat reduction and body weight loss, lowers cholesterol levels, enhances endurance, lowers inflammation, treats heart disease, and reduces anxiety and tissue damage, according to studies done on mice. When tested on mice, SR9009 showed no signs of liver damage. However, no adverse effects or dangers associated with SR9009 have been identified due to a paucity of human study. Its usage is discouraged by the medical community since it might be very harmful.

Scientists will evaluate the effectiveness of the REV-ERB agonist SR9009 for the treatment of Small Cell Lung Cancer in the year 2020. (SCLC). They wanted to find possible REV-ERB-regulated DNA sequences and maybe differentiate the mechanism of SCLC treatment.

Introduction to Lipozene

What exactly is Lipozene? The Lipozene weight loss pills are manufactured by Lipozene, a weight reduction supplement firm. Thomas Barker, the company’s current CEO, is in charge. Obesity Research Institute, the company’s alternative name, is likewise copyrighted (ORI). Henny and Sandra den Uijl are the owners of this firm.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (69)Lipozene’s official website

Lipozene’s major component is glucomannan, which is derived from the roots of the Konjac plant (Amorphophallus konjac), often known as elephant yam. It’s also a key component in shirataki noodles. The water-soluble, fermentable dietary fiber, according to the manufacturer, may help people lose weight. Clinical investigations have also shown that fiber provides other health advantages, such as lowering cholesterol, blood lipids, and blood sugar levels.

However, since its start in 2003, the firm has had its fair share of controversy. Obesity Research Institute and Continuity Products had to pay $4.6 million to resolve a lawsuit in 2020. They were accused of falsely promoting Lipozene as a “weight-loss breakthrough” that would “get rid of pounds of body fat,” according to the plaintiffs.

The lawsuit compensated every customer who bought the diet tablets for personal use between August 10, 2012, and October 28, 2019. Henny den Uijl and Sandra den Uijl, the CEOs of Obesity Research Institute and Continuity Products, denied any misconduct. They did, however, agree to amend the product’s marketing representations.

Lipozene Science Review: A Fiber to Help You Lose Weight

Lipozene is a weight-loss product that promises to help consumers lose weight by including water-soluble fiber in a tablet. They claim on their website that their product includes Glucomannan, a super-fiber that has been scientifically shown to aid weight loss.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (70)Lipozene’s active component was derived from the Konjac plant (Amorphophallus konjac)

What is the mechanism of action of Lipozene? When submerged in water, this remarkable fiber expands 200 times its original size (by weight). The special fiber’s capacity to absorb water is triggered once Lipozene capsules dissolve in the stomach, resulting in a sense of fullness that may linger for hours. As a result, the user is likely to feel less hungry and eat less calories.

On its website, the firm mentions a research in which two groups of patients were given the Lipozene medicine and a placebo. They stated that those who received the medicine shed 4X as much weight as those who took the placebo. They also claimed that 78 percent of the weight they lost was fat. This research, however, was funded by the corporation and has yet to be published in a peer-reviewed publication. As a result, its legitimacy is in doubt.

The corporation claims at the bottom of the page that the participants in the research were not given particular instructions about their lifestyle or eating habits. This suggests that a few of them were involved in other weight-loss activities, such as exercises. Many customers and health professionals have questioned the weight reduction company’s claims as a result of these comments.

Glucomannan (the active component in Lipozene) has been demonstrated in several scientific research to provide short-term weight-loss benefits but not long-term benefits. The National Institute of Health (NIH) stated that glucomannan had little to no impact on weight reduction after several research investigations were unable to determine the truth regarding the active ingredient’s association with weight loss.

Other peer-reviewed research found that glucomannan had little or no effect on weight reduction. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has decided that the component glucomannan has “little to no impact on body weight” after multiple clinical experiments failed to show that it induces weight reduction.

This product is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any illness and has not been reviewed by the FDA.

Review of Lipozene

Lipozene may be purchased in a variety of ways.

The capsules are available on the Lipozene website or on Amazon. The 60-count capsule bottle and an additional bottle of the same number, however, are available for $29.95 on the website. Due to the many independent sellers on Amazon, costs fluctuate based on the amount of bottles purchased (30-count and 60-count). There is a $1.35 processing charge for each purchase made on the website that is shipped.

June 2024 - Page 31 of 63 - CSUPERB (71)Ordering page for Lipozene

Lipozene: How to Use It

Lipozene.com, the company’s official website, is the most cost-effective option to get the product. Lipozene is available on Amazon through a variety of independent merchants, but it does not have an official shop on the third-party marketplace. When you purchase from most Amazon merchants, you may not get the free delivery and complimentary MetaboUP Plus bottle that you would receive if you purchased through the website.

According to ORI’s website, if you don’t see any results after using the medicine for 30 days, you may get your money back. To be eligible for this money-back guarantee, you must file your complaint within 30 days after receiving it. Furthermore, the company’s money-back promise is only applicable when you get a validation number.

Review of Lipozene’s Privacy

The company’s privacy policy may be found at the bottom of the webpage. They separate the data they acquire from their consumers into two categories: personal data and non-personal data.

Name, physical address, email address, telephone number, age range, birth date, gender, and other personal information are examples of what they might acquire. They might also gather non-personal information such as the customer’s browser type, operating system, IP address, and domain name from which they viewed the site.

They claim to use personal information acquired from you for the following purposes: (1) to fulfill product orders and information requests; (2) to contact you as needed (e.g., to reply to queries); and (3) to provide information, promotional materials, and newsletters, among other things. They also state that in the course of their marketing operations, they may sell, disclose, or license your information to a third-party. They do state, however, that all third-party firms are PCI-compliant.

In their privacy policy, they also create allowances for California residents.

Nebula Genomics is a company that specializes in genomics.

Your genetic code may explain why certain supplements perform better than others in particular instances. Thinness, BMI, and XX may all be linked to genetic polymorphisms, which can influence how weight reduction supplements effect you. Before you attempt that next pill, why not use our 30X Whole Genome Sequencing DNA testing kit to find out about your weight tendencies?

Nebula decodes your whole genome, while other DNA tests only decode 0.02 percent of it. The data we offer is 10,000 times greater than other DNA tests like 23andMe and AncestryDNA because of the considerable difference between the DNA we test and other DNA testing.

In conjunction with Family Tree DNA, we provide comprehensive ancestry DNA reporting as well as Y chromosome and mtDNA sequencing. Aside from that, our test will keep you up to speed on the newest genetic developments, owing to our weekly updates.

Finally, we understand how important privacy is to our consumers. As a result, we handle any personal information you provide on our website with the greatest care. Your information stays unavailable to anybody, even us at Nebula, thanks to a mix of blockchain-style security and privacy computing.
