TIMONIUM, MD – Significant traffic disruptions are expected Thursday morning following a collision involving a trash truck and a semitrailer on Interstate 83 in Timonium. The crash occurred shortly after 5 AM near Timonium Road.

The incident led to the closure of all northbound lanes of I-83 near the I-695 ramp. This closure has resulted in traffic congestion on both the inner and outer loops of I-695, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

Baltimore County fire officials reported that one individual was extricated from the wreckage and is currently being transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center by the Maryland State Police Aviation unit.

  • Woman Killed in D.C. Hit-and-Run

    Washington, D.C. — U.S. Park Police are searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in Southeast.

    Officers responded to reports of a hit-and-run on Anacostia Drive, near the skating rink, just before 9 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, they found a woman in critical condition.

    The woman was airlifted to a local hospital, where her injuries worsened. She died on Sunday morning.

    The driver did not remain at the scene. The woman's identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified.

  • D.C. Shooting Leaves Six Injured; Officer Injured

    Washington, D.C. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that injured six individuals in Southeast D.C. over the weekend.

    On Sunday, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of Minnesota Ave at approximately 6:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they found two men with gunshot wounds, who were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their current conditions remain unknown.

    Later that day, a teenage girl and a man walked into a local hospital with gunshot wounds from the same incident. The teen was shot in the hand. Additionally, another man and two teenage boys were also treated for gunshot wounds at local hospitals.

    During the investigation, a D.C. Metro Police officer responding to the scene was involved in a car accident a few blocks away at Minnesota and Pennsylvania Avenue. The officer was extricated by D.C. Fire and EMS and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The presence of passengers in the other vehicle remains unclear.

    On Monday, police released surveillance images of a vehicle connected to the shooting.

  • Two Males Shot Overnight Near Fairmont Park

    PHILADELPHIA, PA — A shooting incident early this morning in the 39th District resulted in injuries to two males. The incident occurred at 12:18 AM at the intersection of Ridge and W Lehigh Avenues.

    A 19-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, and a 16-year-old Black male was shot in the left thigh and left buttock. Both victims were transported to Temple University Hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition.

    No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no weapons have been recovered at the scene. The Philadelphia Police Department's Shooting Investigation Group is actively handling the ongoing investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.

  • Arrest Made in 2022 Virginia Beach Shooting Death of 15-Year-Old Boy

    VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) has made a breakthrough in a 2022 homicide case with the arrest of Taveyoine Nishaun, a 20-year-old Norfolk resident.

    Nishaun faces charges of First Degree Murder, Unlawful Use of a Firearm, and Gang Participation, following the fatal shooting incident that occurred in the 1200 block of Friendship Square on October 30, 2022. Police discovered a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound at the scene, who later died from his injuries on November 2, 2022.

    After an extended investigation, VBPD detectives apprehended Nishaun on Thursday, June 7, 2024. It is important to note that the charges are merely accusations, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

  • Motorcyclist Injured in Crash With Car on Route 571

    MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A severe motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a car occurred at the intersection of County Route 571 and Beacon Street on Sunday, June 9, around 1:11 PM.

    Upon arrival, Manchester Township Police discovered 30-year-old Collins Oluleti from Toms River critically injured. Oluleti, who was operating a 2024 black Kawasaki Vulcan S, sustained a severe head injury and was found unresponsive in the roadway. He was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he remains in critical condition.

    The accident investigation revealed that the Kawasaki was traveling eastbound when a silver 2004 Toyota Camry, traveling north and stopping at the intersection, proceeded and entered Oluleti's lane. This action led Oluleti to brake sharply, causing him to lose control and fall, sliding into the Toyota and ultimately being dragged under it.

    The Toyota, driven by 26-year-old Andy Hernandez-Cheneaux of Toms River, sustained front-end damage but Hernandez-Cheneaux and his three passengers were uninjured. Emergency responders at the scene included EMTs, firefighters from Ridgeway and Manchester Volunteer Fire Departments, and Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics and Life Flight.

  • Fugitive Wanted for Robbery Sought in Newark

    NEWARK, NJ — Newark's Public Safety Director, Fritz G. Fragé, is calling for public assistance to identify a man linked to a robbery incident on the evening of Saturday, June 8.

    The incident unfolded around 9 p.m. in the 500 block of Orange Street when a man entered a local business, intimidated the owners by insinuating he had a firearm, and demanded money. He successfully fled with $250 in cash and roughly $400 worth of merchandise.

    The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall man with a medium build and a bald head. During the incident, he was dressed in a gray Hollister T-shirt, blue jean shorts, red and black Jordans, and was carrying a dark gray backpack. The Newark Police Department urges anyone with information about this individual to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
